Competition Secretary.
The season will soon be coming to an end, and I hope the fishing will improve, as usual during the winter the fishing has been challenging. The summer matches were completely different with some very good bags taken to the scales. The Decoy Cup 1st leg in June produced a massive total of 584lbs of fish weighed in.
For the Saturday matches the weight and points cup were won by Stuart Williamson. In the inter club matches we beat Rudgewick, Henfield, Haywards Heath and Copthorne, with some very good weights-an example against Rudgewick-we weighed 261lbs against 151lbs over both legs.
The joint senior trophy was won by myself and the wife-she also won the Ladies cup and the Ladies Challenge Cup.
Again, this season there has been some good size fish caught on matches, Bream and Tench to over 3lb, Chub of 3lb13oz and 3lb 10oz, Roach of 1lb4oz and 1lb 1oz, Carp of 16lb5oz and 15lb14oz and at Wineham two perch of 2lb10oz and 1lb 9oz.
The Xmas trophies were fished at Decoy. the fish again proved more difficult to catch with Mick Wright coming top with 16lbs 3oz, second was his son James Wright with 14lb8oz and third was Steve Mahkonen with 10lb 6oz, total weight of 94lbz. the senior citizens cup was won by Trevor Brown with 6lb, the One For Bill trophy for the best fish went to Martin tobias with a carp of 7lbs 3oz and the junior shield was won by Rebecca Wright with !lb 5oz. Then we had a good buffet at the Halland forge with everyone getting a prize and raffle prizes donated by Burgess Hill Tackle Centre, members and committee members.
I would like to thank the members that covered for me on the matches that I could not attend.
would all members with trophies please return them to me as soon as possible. thank you for your continuing support.
