| The River Ouse at Hamsey is located just outside
Lewes. The club controlled stretch is bisected by the Weir near the car
park. Down stream from this, the water is completely tidal whilst above the
weir, the river is only partly affected by the tides-becoming tidal with
tides of about 5.7 and greater. As well as the expected river species, notably, large carp have been caught above the weir where the backstream enters on the far side. There is also a seasonal run of large grey mullet as well as sea trout. |
